Social Worker Support

Domestic and family violence situations are often complex and can frequently have an impact on a person’s safety, as well as their medical and mental health. When our team is notified of a domestic violence event, the member’s safety will always take priority and may involve immediate responses from emergency services, in-person support, or in-app communication. Our in-house social worker team will manage these cases to ensure safe and effective outcomes for the affected members.

Once a member's safety is confirmed, we ensure they’re supported for any medical or mental health concerns. A range of support pathways may be provided. In certain circumstances, we can provide immediate accommodation and food assistance, before ongoing support can be provided by family or a relevant government program.

A member may be connected to one of our social workers for assistance with issues in their personal lives. Our social workers work members to develop comprehensive intervention plans tailored to address their specific needs. Our social workers will facilitate access to essential services such as financial assistance, parenting support, housing assistance, or legal advocacy.

We have partnered with a number of community pathways in order to provide support to members experiencing financial concerns. The pathways provided to members are determined through the holistic triage  and include financial self help tools, financial counselling or coaching.
